Shapes to Music
Designers will be focusing on listening to music and visualizing it through animation. Visualizing music requires a keen “ear” to details, including being mindful of dynamics, instrumentation, sequence, and structure. Translate the audio you hear to the visuals seen on screen.
Interactive Editorial
Pay close attentions to the IdN brand and style. Your concept should be wholly new and not be based on an existing design or layout, but should work within the IdN look and feel.
Personal Datagrams
Animated .GIFs do something magical- they take a moment of streaming time and fold it into infinity. You will be recording and observing three key moments in your life and building them into looping animations using the shape layer tools.
ABC – 123
Designing simple characters or objects with appealing characteristics. The characters will have something in common with an assigned letter. Bring your animations to life with the puppet tool and/or parenting workflows and have it interact with the letter. – My part was letter C
Thirty Seconds
Creating a visual essay. An essay is a personal, short piece of persuasive writing. It typically has a simple structure: A thesis, supportive arguments, and a conclusion.
